Production 2

Now we finished our second day of filming and we have completed filming every scene. The same friend of ours who helped us last time graciously decided to help us out again. Not only did he help film, but ended up playing the ghost for us.

The second half of the film was definitely more challenging but that is most likely due to the last half of our film having more complex scenes requiring more than just saying your lines and acting the emotions.

The later scenes also require multiple camera angles so we had to decide where we would make our jump cuts to the different angles.  Another thing that was challenging was getting the ghost to appear out of nowhere but to make it look smooth.

We had Muhammad go to grab his phone then as soon as he turns around the ghost appears so, once Nathan picked up the phone and turned towards the door Nathan froze and stood completely still. Then I stopped the recording and then immediately started again (creating another clip) and with the camera still rolling our friend who was playing the ghost would get in the frame positioned right where we wanted him. Then in this same clip we filmed our friend (the ghost) tackling Nathan onto the bed. Then right after we filmed a clip of Nathan just falling on his back onto the bed as if he was tackled.

All of these extra steps and techniques were implemented in order to create the special effects that I will be creating during the editing process of the film. And speaking of the editing process It’s time for me to throw these clips into Premier Pro and begin putting this film together.
